It all started in 2007 in the quiet town of Ennice, North Carolina. Back then, we were known as Budget Fix-it and Fabrication—a small welding and fabrication shop with big ambitions. Day after day, folks would come in asking if we knew anyone they could trust for home repairs. Most of them had the same kind of stories: unfinished work, poor craftsmanship, or just no-shows. We listened—and we realized something had to change.

So, we changed.

We expanded our services, stepping into the role of a handyman business—and that decision changed everything. The work started pouring in, not just because people needed help, but because they were finally finding someone they could count on. That trust is what built the foundation for Blue Star Home Repair.

Then came August 9, 2020. In the early morning hours, a 5.1 earthquake shook Alleghany County. Homes were damaged, lives were disrupted, and the need for skilled, reliable help skyrocketed. Our founder—who had spent years in emergency services—immediately went to work helping the community assess and recover. But as the scope of the damage became clearer, it was obvious many repairs were beyond the limits of unlicensed work.

So once again, we stepped up.

By October 2020, we became a fully licensed residential and commercial contractor, equipped to handle everything from home repairs to full-scale builds across multiple states. And we didn’t stop there.

Over the years, we’ve built more than homes—we’ve built trust. With over 17 years of service, thousands of completed projects, and a perfect 5-star rating on Google, we’ve become a name people know and recommend. In 2024, we reached another proud milestone: becoming an official United States Veterans Affairs contractor. Now, we’re honored to serve not only our local communities but also the men and women who served our country.

Through the housing crisis of 2008, the pandemic of 2020, the earthquake of 2020, and the lesser storms all business go through, We have stood firm in that if someone needs help we will do our best to help.
